Senior Suds is a program that offers free laundry vouchers for seniors in our community. This program is a partnership between Christ the King Lutheran Church, The Clay Church Food Pantry, the St. Joseph County Health Department, and Burton's Laundry.
Senior Suds is open to St. Joseph County residents age 55 and older who receive SNAP benefits. Here’s how it works:
-
Pre-register here to receive a prepaid Burton’s Laundry card. A team member will determine your eligibility, and reserve a card for you if all eligibility requirements are met. (Note there are a limited number of laundry cards available, and participants may receive only one card per month.)
-
Once notified of approval, you can stop by the Clay Church Food Pantry at 17646 Cleveland Road during guest hours (Mondays from 12-3 pm, Thursdays from 9 am-12 pm) to pick up your laundry card. You MUST bring your ID and SNAP card!
-
Use your laundry card at any Burton’s location at the time of your choosing, then return the card to Clay Church Food Pantry. (Failure to return the card will disqualify you from using the program in the future).
-
If you require assistance at the laundromat, a representative from the St. Joseph County Department of Health will be onsite at Burton’s River Park and Mishawaka Lincolnway West locations on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month from 9 am–12 pm.
