In Matthew 13, Jesus uses a series of parables to teach about the kingdom of God. He uses farm images, flour, fine pearls, and fishing. The stories, some long and some short, convey much more than just the literal words Jesus speaks. We’ll explore the Jewish use of parables in teaching, and use what we learn to better understand what Jesus has to say about the kingdom of God.
