Rev. Jim Elrod, Associate Pastor

Life Verses:

Romans 12:1-2

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is true worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Colossian 3:16-17

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Personal statement:

It is pure joy to serve as an associate pastor at Clay church.  I have always wanted to be a part of a Sunday through Saturday church.  The fact that our focus is living in faith every day has helped me grow as a Christ follower.  I want to be a 24/7 Christ follower who leads by serving, and serves by leading.

Primary roles at Clay:

I serve as the director of Small groups, Adult Christian Education, & Discipleship.  I also have responsibilities that include Preaching, Worship planning & design, and music director for the Praise Team.

Jim and his wife, Cheryl, have been married 32 years and are the parents of two daughters (Cari Huckstep and Courtney Elrod), two sons (James Elrod and Joshua Elrod), and a son-in-law (Jared Huckstep).
